The Chairman of the Committee, O. Zarubinskiy stressed that "the problem of deported people as a result of ethnic discrimination is one of the most complicated problems inherited from the USSR".

O. Zarubinskiy mentioned that since the year 1996, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has more than once directed the corresponding Bill of the Law to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, however it has not adopted been adopted still.

Nowadays the Government is implanting the program on settling and arrangements, adaptation and their integration in the Ukrainian society of the deported Crimean Tatars for the period until the year 2010.

Nevertheless, the realization of the written norms faces dozen of problems while implementing it caused by the absence of the legislative act that would regulated the relations in the sphere.

The results of the audit held by the Court of Auditors testify the mentioned above fact.

Moreover, the absence of reconciliation in the Ukrainian Authorities leads to the non-implementation or not thorough implementation of the actions on resumption of the rights pf the deported people as a result of ethnic discrimination presupposed by the state.

The Bill "On the Resumption of the Rights pf the Deported People as a Result of Ethnic Discrimination" (Reg.№3142) was discussed during the meeting. The Bill envisaged the determining and ademption of the status of deported people as a result of ethnic discrimination, basis and principles of the state poly in the field, authority of the state bodies in this sphere etc. The participants expressed a number of motions to it. Representatives of the Scientific Institutions deem the Governmental Bill should be adeemed, instead the new one should be elaborated.
